The Great Smoky Mountain National Park

Ripley's Aquarium

Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies is a popular destination to see aquatic wildlife.

There are many antique shops located within 30 minutes of the lodge. We have antique maps available.

Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community

The Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community: Established in 1937, the Arts & Crafts Community is comprised of the largest group of independent artisans in the country. With shops, studios, and galleries located along an 8-mile loop. This is a part of Gatlinburg's history and has been designated as a historic pathway on the Tennessee Heritage Arts & Crafts Trail.

Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts

Offers workshops, conferences, and professional instruction in a variety of art-craft media.

Baseball

Smokies Stadium-Sevierville. Minor League Baseball about 20 minutes from the lodge.

Mountain Biking

Take a guided tour or rent a bike and create your own mountain biking adventure. Trails include gentle dirt roads to gnarly single-track. 

Caverns

Forbidden Caverns is a one hour guided tour featuring sparkling formations, natural chimneys, and waterfalls. Another close Cavern is Tuckaleechee Caverns in Townsend.

Dollywood

Where entertainment and crafts come together. Dollywood is less than 10 minutes away from Berry Springs Lodge.

Fishing

Fly or spin fish on the world famous Little Pigeon River. Let us "hook" you up with a superb guide for a full or half day of fishing, April to October.

Flat Creek Village

Antiques, collectibles, local crafts and insulated portable storage buildings. Leisurely stroll our over 30 unique shops and step back to your good memories.

Great Smoky Mountains Railroad

With the romance and mystique of an era gone by, guests on board the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad will enjoy scenic train journeys across fertile valleys, through tunnels and across river gorges in a spectacular region called the Great Smoky Mountains.

Helicopter Tours

For the nature lover, you will be soaring over the foothills, through Walden's Creek and beautiful undeveloped mountain ranges and unspoiled back country. As you fly over blankets of mountains you will be amazed at the view. Your pictures will be worth a thousand words.

Hiking

More than 850 miles of hiking trails traverse the Great Smoky Mountains. They range from easy to difficult and provide half hour walks to week-long backpacking trips. The Appalachian Trail runs for 70 miles along the Park's top ridge.

Horse Back Trail Riding

Horse back trail riding is available at commercial stables located in the park from mid-March through late November or year round outside the park.

Hot Air Balloon Rides

Soar quietly at dawn for an hour long ride with commanding views and enjoy a champagne breakfast. Available year-round.

Museum of Appalachia

A complete replica of a pioneer village, featuring artifacts left by early settlers to the area. Exit 122, off 1-75, Norris. 865-494-7680.

Shopping

Many visitors come to the smokies area to take advantage of the shopping bargains. Shopping malls, discount shops, and factory outlet stores are numerous in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. Outlet Shopping: Five Oaks, Tanger, Beltz, Red Roof, Several Christmas Shops.

Skiing Ober Gatlinburg

Offers 8 ski trails serviced by two quad and one double chairlift which keeps you out of lift lines and on the slopes. When temperatures drop, our snowmaking equipment blankets 100% of our slopes. Slopes are maintained with the latest in snow-grooming equipment to provide a smoother, more consistent surface creating enjoyable skiing conditions.

Smoky Mountain Field School

Offers nature workshops and hiking adventures. The in-depth programs offered, immerse program participants in the Park environment providing a more personalized opportunity to understand and appreciate Park resources.

Tubing

Grab a tube and have a of fun-filled trip floating down the lower end of the Big Pigeon River with Rafting in the Smokies and Tubing In The Smokies! It's a cool way to spend a hot afternoon in East Tennessee's Smoky Mountain Area.

White Water Rafting

The Big Pigeon River boasts twelve class III and three class IV whitewater thrilling rapids! Accompanied by one of Rafting in the Smokies professional river guides, you'll literally rock and roll down five miles of lively whitewater, rafting through continuous class III & IV rapids such as "Too Late, Vegamatic, Razor Blade, After Shave, and Lost Guide."
